The Bigger Picture...

I can't tell you how excited I am about Buddy. Yes, He is so adorable. And the fact that we got the call from Marissa just two days after I ran into Heather and she showed me the picture of Buddy she had painted made me say, "Hmmm, Maybe there is more to this." I felt like it was meant to be. The fact that we can help Marissa raise $ for her cause and help animals is priceless to me. The coolest thing about all of this, in the bigger picture, is Heather believing in herself and pursuing her passion for art. What a jumping off point for her painting for a good cause!!! It's just so cool to me because giving is SO her heart anyway.

She is a super special girl to me. Our kids go to the same school, we live in the same neighborhood and I have know her for quite a while, but we are so funny together. We haven't even tried and our last couple of hair appts. have been at the exact same time on the exact same day. She and I are like, "Steel Magnolia's" in there. We yack, yack, yack... To the point we are holding the dryer up so we don't miss a word.

We almost got in trouble the last time because all we did was talk and ignore the fact that two girls were actually trying to make our hair look good. Who cares we said, "I know we payin' good $ to be here, but we just wanna talk!" Ha! We have been put in each others path so much lately and things are happening because of it. I believe she has been put in my path for a reason. I think alot of people are put in our lives and if we ignore it, we might miss the reason why! So here's to waking up people and seeing what is going on around you. It just might be the thing that means the most.

Gone to the Dogs...

Yep, and we mean it! $5 of EVERY "Buddy Tee" sold will go to a fabulous animal charity! Marissa May, from ABC's The Bachelorette, approached POM about partnering with her on her quest to help some animals and a great cause! I love me some animals myself, so I couldn't be more excited about this one!!! So tell your friends, kids, your family and even people you pass on the street! Ha!

Hi POM fans! Some of you may recognize me from my support of POM, but if you don’t, my name is Marissa and I learned all about POM right before I went on last season of ABCs The Bachelor. I was proud to sport POM during my stint on the show…my only regret was that I wasn’t on long enough to wear more!

I am now teaming up with POM one more time to help out a charity in need. In October, I’m partaking in a charity event that I hope you all can help me raise funds for. Reality Rescue Festival (realityrescuefestival.com) is a weekend event bringing together a BUNCH of reality TV personalities to help out an animal rescue, Southern Comfort Animal Rescue. Southern Comfort Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that rescues and rehomes abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals. Since 2001, SoCo has been filling a critical need. In fact, this sanctuary is the only shelter/animal control for all of Wheeler County. In April 2011, the rescue suffered a devastating fire and is currently closed until they can rebuild. This is where I ask you all to help me, help this shelter.

I am raising funds to help get this rescue back on its feet so it can continue to do its amazing work, by fulfilling a need this county has.

Being that POM is based in Georgia, I reached out to them since the event directly benefits their community. Of course, POM was eager to help! We have created the “Buddy” tee and $5 of every tee sold will go straight to SoCo Rescue! The shirts are super comfy, super cute and are going to a great cause!

Coming Full Circle...

The first official, "Patty Cakes Cupcakes" tasting.
The crew gives them a BIG thumbs up! All I had to hear
was hazelnut somethin' somethin' and toasted candied almonds, what? YUM. Aren't the pretty, too!! :)

This crew has been together since our babies were at First Pres Preschool in Marietta. During lunch, one of the preschool teachers just happened to walk by. Can you imagine the, "Awww's..." and can we go back for just one day, please!? :)

It is amazing that we were all talking about our children's College visits and a piece of our favorite baby memories walked right by.
That was a gift for all of us when it took us back there together. The history of friendships and the support of each other with the things to come is a pretty amazing picture.

Another New Biz is Born...

Very excited for our girl Patricia Katopes!
She is starting a new biz...Patty Cakes Cupcakes!

She became, "Patty Cakes" during our tennis team days and we are obviously more than proud to be a part of the meaning behind the name of her new venture!

More details to come and her website will be up and running very soon! Will post contact information and just let me say right now... They are GOOD! We held an official tasting this week with the peeps at, "Chicken and the Egg" in Marietta. YUM! That's all I can tell you.

The Midtown Pop Up Shop girls created a September 11th Memorial in memory of... The day that changed all of us.

Our girl stood proudly in honor of all the families, heroes and brave souls lost on that September day, 10 years ago... Still feels like yesterday. We will NEVER forget.
